Bazar Bizar

Bazar Bizar is a Dutch brand founded in 2014 in Amsterdam by Joost and Britt. Younger than most Scandinavian brands, it has made its name through its exotic bohemian positioning, with a marked taste for travel and international craftsmanship. The Bazar Bizar spirit can be summed up in a few words: holiday bohemian, modernised exoticism, global craft. The founders travel to Morocco, Indonesia, India, Mexico and Vietnam to seek out artisans able to produce pieces to their designs. The catalogue mainly covers wall decor (in particular mirrors in woven rattan, patinated metal and ceramic), occasional furniture (stools, coffee tables), baskets and storage, cushions and textiles, plant pots and planters, and handcrafted tableware. The visual signature: mixed materials (rattan, jute, patinated metal, ceramic), natural colours with touches of white and black, and a chic holiday aesthetic. Bazar Bizar is now distributed in more than 40 countries and releases several seasonal new arrivals each year. The Cool Republic offers most of the Bazar Bizar catalogue with fast delivery in France.

Several Bazar Bizar categories stand out in particular. The mirrors (Sun, Mosaic and Sunburst collections) in woven rattan or patinated metal are absolute bestsellers. The Beldi stools and coffee tables (solid wood tree-trunk shape) add a raw touch. Baskets in woven rush, copper-toned metal or braided leather round out the storage offering. On the lighting side, the rattan pendant lights and raw wood floor lamps (Beldi Lamp collection) are very much in demand. The washed linen cushions, recycled wool throws and duvet covers with ethnic patterns are popular. Matt ceramic vases, sculptural candleholders and black metal plant stands are among the classics. Bazar Bizar's strength: a mix of soft Scandinavian style and an exotic bohemian touch that instantly brings character. Ideal for adding a travel dimension to a classic Scandinavian interior.

The two brands look similar on the surface (Scandinavian exotic bohemian) but have distinct positionings. Madam Stoltz is older (2000), with a broader collection and more international sources of inspiration (India, Morocco, Vietnam, Mexico). Its visual signature is more sophisticated and modernised art deco. Bazar Bizar is more recent (2014), with a tighter catalogue and a more chic holiday, accessible positioning. Madam Stoltz colours tend towards gold/aged brass and deep tones, while Bazar Bizar leans towards white/beige and natural rattan. On price, Bazar Bizar is slightly more affordable (10-30% cheaper for equivalent pieces). In terms of quality, the two brands are a match for each other. You can mix them perfectly well: an XL Madam Stoltz mirror as a statement piece, complemented by 2-3 Bazar Bizar baskets and a few cushions. The golden rule: choose a consistent palette (for example beige + natural + black) and alternate the brands to avoid a single-brand showroom effect. At The Cool Republic, you'll find both brands with fast delivery in France.
